To install from the DVD:
Put the DVD in your DVD drive.
The disc should AutoPlay; click on Run Setup.exe
If the disc does not auto run, open "My Computer", double click on the DVD drive icon, this should automatically run Setup.exe
(During installation, on older PCs, if asked for your permission to install Microsoft’s .Net Framework, choose Yes.)
To Run the Software:
Immediately following installation, the software will run.
On future occasions, click on the Light & Colour Lab desktop icon to launch the programme. You will also find the icon on the Start Menu under the Physics-SchoolUK heading.
Registering your copy of the software:
On the first run, you will be prompted to type in a DVD Registration Code; type the 8 digit code that is printed on the paper label inserted with the DVD disc. Use the same code for each PC on which you install this TRIAL version.
You will also type the name of your school.
If you lose this code then contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org, telling us the name of your school, for a replacement code.
If, after typing in your Registration code and name of school, you do not have an Internet connection, the software will store your details and try again to register the next time it is run.
After a number of attempts, you will be prompted to contact us by email to complete the registration and stop further registration messages.
To Upgrade from your TRIAL version to a FULL version:
Click on the "How to order" link at the side (or bottom) of this page to find out the cost of a site licence. Once you have confirmed your wish to buy a site licence you will be sent a new FULL VERSION CODE with instructions on how to use it; this will turn your trial installations into full, non-time limited installations, without having to reinstall.
If your computer screen is very wide compared to its height, you may need to drag the windows Taskbar to the side of the screen. This will allow you to see the full height of the Light & Colour Lab window.
If your Taskbar won't move, then right click on it and untick "Lock the taskbar". Now you should be able to move it.
