Designed By... This website is designed, written and illustrated by an early retired Head of Physics from a well known and much admired 11 to 18 school in England who has taught Physics to pupils from Year 7 to Year 13.
Designed for... This website, in its current form, is a project to address the latest AQA KS4 (and KS3) Specifications on Physics, released in 2016. It started with the Forces topic for both KS3 and KS4. Now the Energy, Electricity, Particle Model of Matter and Atomic Structure topics have been added for KS4. The final 3 topics will be added in due course, but see the comment on Feedback needed, below.
Special Features... One feature of this "educational" website that sets it apart from most is its numerous interactive question sections. At the end of every teaching section there are a series of questions, after a number of examples, designed to test a user's understanding. These groups of questions can be tackled by individuals working at home or in class groups at school.
Other features of the website include its extensive use of diagrams and graphs to illustrate as many points as possible.
Who is it for...
The website is particularly useful for pupils who are studying Physics at home whether because they choose to be home schooled or they want to supplement their school studies at home. There are not a lot of good websites that specifically address the UK Physics KS3 or KS4, GCSE, specifications. Many, like the BBC Bitesize website leave out huge sections of the specification. Others, are for the American schools or colleges. This site will do as it says, it will tackle Physics for the UK KS4 (GCSE, AQA) specification and eventually KS3.
Finally, in order to be encouraged to continue this mamoth project, I need positive/constructive feedback. I need to know what is good; what could be changed; what to have more of, etc. Please click on the "Contact" button and leave a message.
